Robbery reported at private bank in Karachi, probe underway

A robbery incident was reported at a private bank located on Manghopir Road in Peerabad area of the city on Monday

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th May, 2026) A robbery incident was reported at a private bank located on Manghopir Road in Peerabad area of the city on Monday.

According to police, SSP West Tariq Mastoi along with DSP and SHO reached the spot soon after the incident.

Initial investigation suggests that three armed suspects entered the bank while two accomplices remained outside. The suspects reportedly snatched a pistol and rifle from the security guard and looted cash from the counter, the exact amount of which is yet to be determined.

Police said the suspects locked the bank’s door from outside using a wire lock before fleeing on motorcycles.

A crime scene unit has collected evidence from the site, while statements of witnesses are being recorded.

Meanwhile, IGP Sindh Javed Alam Odho has taken notice of the incident and sought a detailed report from the Additional IGP Karachi.

He has directed that the case be investigated from all angles and ordered immediate arrest of the suspects, instructing police teams to utilize modern technology to trace those involved.
