WAH CANTT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th May, 2026) The sanitation staff of the Suthra Punjab agency remained fully active throughout Eid-ul-Azha, carrying out an extensive cleanliness operation across the twin cities of Taxila and Wah to ensure the timely collection and disposal of sacrificial animal waste.
Assistant Commissioner Maria Javaid visited multiple dumping sites and urban localities during Eid days to review sanitation arrangements and monitor ongoing cleanliness operations. She inspected waste lifting activities, transportation systems, and disposal mechanisms at designated sites, ensuring smooth coordination between field teams and union councils.
Officials reported that more than 615 tons of animal waste were collected and safely disposed of during the three-day operation.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>On the first day, 264 tons were removed, followed by 233 tons on the second day and 118 tons on the third day, reflecting a sustained round-the-clock effort by sanitation teams to maintain hygiene standards in the region.
The Assistant Commissioner directed sanitation workers to remain alert and ensure immediate removal of waste from streets, markets, roads, and residential areas to prevent public inconvenience. She reiterated that maintaining a clean and healthy environment for citizens during Eid remained the top priority of the local administration.
