RPO, CPO, Commissioner Rawalpindi offer Eid prayers at Police Line Headquarters, exchange greetings

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th May, 2026) Regional Police Officer (RPO) Babar Sarfraz Alpa, Commissioner Engineer Amir Khattak, City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani, SSP Operations, SSP Investigation, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam, divisional SPs, and other senior officials offered Eid ul Azha prayer at Police Lines Headquarters Mosque Rawalpindi here on Wednesday.

Special prayers were offered for the country’s security, peace and stability, the elevation of the ranks of martyrs, and the welfare of the Muslim Ummah. Participants also prayed for prosperity, harmony, and brotherhood across the country.

Following the prayers, RPO Babar Sarfraz Alpa, Commissioner Amir Khattak, and CPO Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani exchanged Eid greetings with police officers and personnel and spent time with them.

A special meal was later arranged in honour of the officers and officials.

According to police spokesperson, comprehensive security arrangements were put in place across the district during Eid-ul-Azha to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property and maintain law and order.

More than 3,700 police officers and personnel were deployed for the security of Eid congregations. Special monitoring was carried out at 736 mosques, 62 Imambargahs, and 60 open-air prayer venues across the district.

Under the security plan, additional personnel were deployed at important places of worship and sensitive locations, while patrolling, checking, and monitoring operations were further strengthened to provide citizens with a peaceful environment during the festivities.

Speaking on the occasion, CPO Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani said that protecting the lives and property of citizens remains the top priority of Rawalpindi Police, adding that the force continues to perform its duties around the clock.

Senior officials, including the RPO and CPO, also appreciated the dedication and performance of police officers and personnel for ensuring effective security arrangements during Eid.
