RPO, Shia Ulema Council discuss Muharram security arrangements

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th May, 2026) Regional Police Officer Rawalpindi Region Babar Sarfraz Alpa held a meeting on Monday with a delegation of Shia Ulema Council led by its provincial president Allama Ishtiaq Hussain Kazmi to review security arrangements for Muharram.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on maintaining law and order, security planning and administrative measures ahead of Muharram-ul-Haram.

The RPO said that foolproof security would be ensured for majalis and processions in accordance with the code of conduct issued by the Punjab government.

He urged the religious scholars of all schools of thought to promote peace, tolerance and unity, and ensure strict adherence to the code of conduct.

The participants assured full cooperation with police and administration to maintain peace during Muharram.
