DERA GHAZI KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Apr, 2026) Regional Police Officers (RPOs) of Dera Ghazi Khan and Dera Ismaeel Khan on Thursday agreed to further strengthen intelligence sharing and improving coordination to successfully counter the security challenges being posed by terrorists elements at Punjab-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa boundary.
The decision to further fortify the coordinated strategy came at a meeting jointly chaired by RPO DG Khan Muhammad Azhar Akram and RPO DI Khan Mubashir Mekan, during which officials reviewed security arrangements, particularly along the Punjab–Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border.
The meeting was attended by District Police Officers, senior officials from the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Special Branch, and other law enforcement agencies.
Participants discussed ways to effectively tackle emerging security challenges in DG Khan, the last district of Punjab towards south that shares boundary with three provinces including Balochistan, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The meeting reviewed threat alerts, operational challenges and overall security situation at the border, ongoing operations against terrorists, and arrangements at security checkpoints. They agreed to adopt a joint strategy to deal with potential threats, ensure timely intelligence sharing, and further strengthen coordination among relevant institutions.
Speaking on the occasion, RPO Muhammad Azhar Akram said that all law enforcement agencies must work under a unified strategy to make operations against terrorists along the Punjab–KP border more effective and coordinated. He directed authorities to ensure timely exchange of information and complete operational harmony so that any potential threat of terrorism could be neutralized promptly.
At the conclusion of the meeting, participants reaffirmed their commitment to continue effective measures to ensure lasting peace along the Punjab–Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border.
