Rs 1 Million Rewarded Dacoit Turns Himself In After Police Pressure in Khairpur

SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Feb, 2026) Under the Sindh government’s directives, the ongoing “Nijat Mehraan” police operation has intensified pressure on criminal elements in the katcha area, leading to the surrender of notorious dacoit Mircho Nareho, who was wanted in more than 30 serious cases and carried a Rs 1 million head money reward.

The operation, commanded by  DIG Sukkur/ Larkana  Nasir Aftab and led on the ground by SSP Khairpur,  Dr Samiullah Somro, has been employing an effective strategy to force dacoits to either surrender or face decisive police action.

As a result, Khairpur police have achieved a major breakthrough: Merch alias Mercho Narijo, of Wahid Bakhsh Narijo, a figure synonymous with terror in the katcha region, turned himself in.

The surrendered dacoit was wanted in over 30 cases of murder, theft, robbery, extortion, and armed encounters with police. After renouncing his criminal past, he not only surrendered but also called on his remaining associates to lay down their arms and come forward.

SSP Dr Samiullah Somro emphasized that the “Nijat Mehran” operation will continue until the complete eradication of dacoits and full restoration of peace and order in the katcha area. He reaffirmed the police’s commitment to protecting citizens’ lives and property, eliminating crime, and maintaining lasting security.
