KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Apr, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ombudsperson for Women, Robab Mehdi on Thursday said her office has secured women's property worth Rs 2.3 billion as part of efforts to enforce inheritance rights and ensure swift justice.
Speaking at an open court held at the District Council Hall in Kohat, she said women’s property cases were handled free of charge and resolved within a maximum of two months period without delays and adjournments.
She added, ombudsperson office has so far disposed 3,007 cases and online hearing have been introduced for elderly women of remote areas.
She also issued on the spot directives on the complaints of women relating to inheritance issues.
Local officials, including Member of Provincial Assembly Daud Afridi, Commissioner Kohat Division, Syed Motasim Billah Shah and Deputy Commissioner Kohat Muhammad Nawaz Wazir attended the session.
Commissioner assured full administrative support and announced plans to expand such outreach programs to District and Tehsil levels in addition to sessions for religious scholars to highlight the women’s rights under the Islamic law.
