Rs.50.5m released per school for ECE room up-gradation in Lahore

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Apr, 2026) The District Education Authority (DEA) Lahore has released funds for the up-gradation of Early Childhood Education (ECE) rooms in 34 primary and middle schools across Lahore,officials said on Monday.

According to Chief Executive Officer (Education) Tariq Mahmood,the allocated funds have been transferred to the accounts of the respective schools to initiate the renovation and modernization process.

He said the schools included Government Primary School Ladhar,Mian Mir Colony,Guhawa,Ittehad Town,Muftapura,Farooq Colony,Chadar,Custom academy,Madina Colony,Gowan,Bengali Dairy Farm and others.

Officials said Rs.50,50,000 has been released for each school to equip ECE rooms with modern facilities aimed at improving early childhood learning standards.

CEO Education Tariq Mahmood said the up-gradation of ECE rooms would enhance the quality of education at the primary level and make early learning more effective for children.

He added that ECE rooms in 720 schools across the city would be upgraded in phases, noting that no major renovation had been carried out for the past 10 years.
