MIRPURKHAS, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Apr, 2026) Authorities have intensified a sweeping crackdown on a staggering corruption scandal at the board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Mirpurkhas, where fraudulent activities worth an estimated Rs2.5 billion have come to light. The Anti-Corruption Establishment has registered a formal case against former Controller Anwar Aleem Khanzada, Superintendent Inter Secret Branch Shahid Latif, Assistant Computer Programmer Azam Khan, along with several agents and other individuals.
According to the FIR, investigators have uncovered large-scale tampering of examination records, systematic forgery, and the issuance of fake academic certificates. Probe findings reveal that as many as 2,539 counterfeit certificates were issued, while marks of over 15,000 students were allegedly inflated through manipulation of the computerized system. Officials also reported the use of fake stamps and forged signatures to legitimize illegal documentation.

5 billion were siphoned off through this elaborate scheme, pointing to a deeply entrenched and organized corruption network. Investigators further disclosed the involvement of private agents who allegedly collected hefty bribes in exchange for altering examination results, undermining the credibility of the education system.
The case includes serious charges such as criminal conspiracy, forgery, tampering with official records, and abuse of authority. Law enforcement agencies have widened the scope of the investigation, conducting targeted raids to apprehend additional suspects while gathering critical evidence.
Anti-corruption officials have vowed uncompromising action, asserting that no individual involved will escape accountability. Meanwhile, citizens—particularly students and parents—have welcomed the exposure of the scandal, urging authorities to ensure transparency and safeguard merit in the education system to prevent future manipulation of academic records.
