MIRPURKHAS, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) A major corruption scandal linked to the Mirpurkhas Education board has sent shockwaves through Sindh’s education system, with investigators probing an alleged province-wide bribery network worth Rs2.5 billion. The case surfaced following disclosures by arrested suspect and former controller Anwar Aleem Khanzada in a statement recorded under Section 161 before Anti-Corruption Police.

According to officials, authorities have issued notices to senior figures—including the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of Universities and Boards, as well as chairpersons and controllers of multiple education boards—summoning them for questioning on April 30. In his statement, Khanzada alleged that administrations of several boards collectively paid large sums to senior officials in exchange for manipulating examination results.

He claimed that at the Nawabshah Board, results of around 90,000 students were altered multiple times through the e-marking system to generate illegal gains, terming it an unprecedented incident. Similar allegations were leveled against boards in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, and Karachi, where officials were accused of paying millions of rupees to facilitate result tampering. He also alleged irregular appointments and a broader plan to undermine public trust in existing boards.

Sources said the Anti-Corruption establishment has widened the scope of its investigation following these claims, with further action against key individuals expected. Authorities have yet to independently verify the allegations, and inquiries remain ongoing.
