MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th May, 2026) Funds worth Rs286 billion have been released for the construction of a 286-bed general hospital in Layyah, official source from the district administration said on Friday.
According to the sources, a substantial budget has also been allocated in the current fiscal year for the establishment of a medical college adjacent to the proposed general hospital.
The Bahadur Digital library is also being restored for public use, while the long-delayed Chowk Azam Trauma Centre is set to become operational with the newly released funds, the official added.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Meanwhile, a work order has been issued for the construction of a cattle market costing Rs1 billion, with payments to landowners to be released in phases. Authorities said the District Hospital and the new General Hospital would operate independently.
The district administration also announced plans to build labour sheds and ensure the provision of water and other basic facilities for workers at project sites.
