LODHRAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Apr, 2026) Development schemes worth Rs5.75 billion were in progress in Lodhran under the Punjab Development Program to resolve longstanding sewerage and drainage issues,here on Tuesday.
The projects include installation of sewerage lines,solarisation, construction of disposal stations and establishment of waste water treatment plants.
Deputy Commissioner(DC),Muhammad Ashraf reviewed progress during a meeting and directed all departments to expedite work.
He stressed that machinery for the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) must be ensured before the monsoon season.
Expressing concern over delays,he warned officials that negligence would not be tolerated and strict action would be taken against non-performance.
He said the initiative aimed to provide relief to citizens and improve civic infrastructure.
The DC also directed the Project Management Unit, WASA, Municipal Committee and NESPAK to conduct joint site visits and ensure timely payments for relocation of installations.
He added that special WASA camps would be set up to manage rainwater drainage and prevent urban flooding during the monsoon,directing all departments to complete assigned tasks within six days.
