LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th May, 2026) The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore has reported significant enforcement outcomes, including recovery of Rs617 million in cash, compensation of Rs257 million to 977 affectees, and restoration of 3,527 kanal of state land valued at Rs111.7 billion during the first four months of 2026 (January–April).
According to a performance report issued on Monday, NAB Lahore addressed 4,020 public complaints and initiated legal proceedings after preliminary scrutiny, authorizing 30 new inquiries. Eight arrests were made in cases involving cheating the public at large and other high-profile investigations. The bureau also restrained 13 properties under court orders to prevent their transfer or disposal during ongoing proceedings.
The recovered state land has been officially mutated into government records across multiple districts, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Kasur, and Jhang, ensuring its protection under state ownership. In addition, four monthly open hearings were held under the supervision of Director General Mirza Faran Baig to facilitate direct public grievance redressal.
The report further stated that NAB Lahore conducted three awareness seminars in educational institutions and 10 internal training sessions for officers to enhance investigative capacity and public outreach. The bureau reiterated its commitment to accountability, recovery of public assets, and timely disposal of complaints in line with legal procedures under the directives of Chairman NAB Nazir Ahmed.
