Singer says whenever tensions arise between India and Pakistan, restrictions are often imposed on Pakistani platforms in India

ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-March 31st, 2026) Renowned singer Sahir Ali Bagga has called for restrictions on Indian music in Pakistan, urging authorities to take measures to support and prioritise the country’s local music industry.

Speaking in a recent interview, the singer said that whenever tensions arise between India and Pakistan, restrictions are often imposed on Pakistani platforms in India.

He cited examples such as limitations on Pakistani content on streaming services, while Indian music continues to be accessible in Pakistan.

He argued that if Pakistani music faces restrictions in India, similar steps should be considered in Pakistan. He stressed the importance of respecting and promoting the domestic music industry.

Bagga added that since such restrictions were initiated by India, both the public and authorities in Pakistan should extend support to local artists and the national music sector.
