BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) A new “Sahulat on the Go Bazaar” has officially been inaugurated in Bahawalpur to provide affordable daily essentials to citizens. The market was jointly inaugurated by Bahawalpur Division Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia, Member of the National Assembly Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar, and Deputy Commissioner Syed Hassan Raza through a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Assistant Commissioner City Iqra Mubeen was also present on the occasion.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia said that, in line with the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, practical and effective measures are being taken to ensure the availability of affordable and quality essential commodities to the public.
He informed that the “Sahulat on the Go Bazaar” consists of 35 shops where citizens can conveniently purchase quality products at reasonable prices under one roof.
He stated that the initiative aims to provide maximum relief to the public from inflation and make the shopping process easier and more accessible.
The Commissioner further said that fruits and vegetables at the market will be sold at prices lower than the open market and even below officially notified DC rates, offering significant financial relief to consumers. He directed the district administration to ensure continuous monitoring of prices and quality standards so that citizens receive genuine benefits.
Speaking on the occasion, MNA Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif remains committed to providing affordable and quality goods to the people, and the establishment of such facilitation markets is an important step toward that goal. He added that public relief projects would be made successful at all costs with transparency and efficiency.
