SALU hosts Alkhidmat summer internship orientation, 146 students selected, 32 awarded scholarships

SUKKUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Jul, 2026) Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) in collaboration with Alkhidmat Foundation District Khairpur on Sunday held the orientation session of the Alkhidmat Summer Internship Program 2026 at the Student Societies Centre.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Yousuf Khushk was lauded for supporting initiatives promoting volunteerism and student engagement, said Dr Ali Raza Lashari, Coordinator, Student Societies Centre.

He added that such programs help students become responsible citizens and future leaders while building leadership, teamwork and empathy.

Asad Ali Mugheri gave an overview of the internship program, while Asif Hussain Siddiqui, Director education Alkhidmat Foundation Sindh Region, highlighted volunteer opportunities in humanitarian and social welfare initiatives.

It was announced that 32 SALU students were awarded scholarships under Alkhidmat’s educational support initiative. A total of 146 students have been selected for the 2026 internship program, including 50 from SALU, who will gain practical experience and community service exposure.

Engr. Muhammad Aadil Arain, Vice President Alkhidmat Foundation District Khairpur, welcomed the participants. The session was attended by Shoaib Iqbal Shaheen, President Alkhidmat District Khairpur, and regional officials.

The orientation concluded with a Q&A session and dua. The event was coordinated with support from the Prime Minister’s Youth Development Council (PMYDC) volunteer team at SALU.
