Sardar Yousaf hails Pakistan’s role in averting war, urges prayers for lasting peace

ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Apr, 2026) Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf has termed the successful prevention of a potential regional war as a moment of“great joy, honour, and respect”for Pakistan, attributing the achievement to both strategic leadership and divine blessings.

Talking to the media on Friday, he said that Allah Almighty has blessed the people, government, and armed forces of Pakistan, enabling the country to avert a looming conflict that could have engulfed not only the region but the entire world.

He praised the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, stating that their hard work and strategic role earned the confidence of all parties involved, leading to the ceasefire and the initiation of negotiations.

Sardar Yousaf noted that the trust placed in Pakistan’s leadership was a matter of pride for the nation, adding that countries such as the United States and Iran had also expressed confidence, further strengthening the diplomatic process.

Expressing the hope that the temporary ceasefire would turn into a permanent solution, he congratulated the nation and emphasized the importance of unity and collective prayers.

He particularly appealed to religious scholars and the general public to offer special prayers during Friday sermons, urging them to pray for the success of ongoing negotiations and for lasting peace in the region and across the world
