Sargodha distt achieves 95% of anti-polio target on 1st day

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Apr, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhary on Tuesday announced that the district administration successfully achieved 95 percent of its first-day target by vaccinating 229,609 children during the ongoing anti-polio campaign in Sargodha.

Presiding over a review meeting at his conference room to evaluate the campaign's progress, the Deputy Commissioner was briefed by health department officials that 26,084 previously missed children were traced and immunized, while 665 children received their zero dose.

The meeting was further informed that 162,334 children were vaccinated through door-to-door visits, representing 92 percent of the specific residential target.

Health officials reported that six instances of parental refusal were encountered, but field teams successfully convinced them to allow the vaccination through on-site awareness and counseling.

DC Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhary directed the teams to ensure 100 percent coverage in the coming days and emphasized that no child should remain deprived of the life-saving drops.
