Sargodha peace committee meeting held

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jun, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry on Tuesday said Sargodha's District Peace Committee has established a strong tradition of inter-sect harmony, brotherhood and mutual cooperation, earning recognition across Punjab.

He expressed these views while chairing a consultative meeting of the District Peace Committee (DPC) to review arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram, with special focus on Ashura processions, Friday prayers and security measures.

The meeting was attended by Colonel Haris, ADCG Rana Abu Bakar, DSP Fazal Qadir, and members of the District Peace Committee.

The DC appreciated the role of religious scholars and peace committee members in promoting peace and stability in the district.

The meeting was informed that security and traffic plans for Muharram have been finalized across the district. Foolproof security arrangements will be implemented through coordinated efforts of police, volunteers, civil administration, Pakistan Army and Rangers.
