Sargodha University receives record 24,000-plus applications for Fall 2026 admissions

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jul, 2026) The University of Sargodha has received a record 24,000-plus applications for admission to its Fall 2026 academic session, reflecting growing student interest in the university's expanding portfolio of market-oriented academic programmes.

Admissions were offered in more than 200 undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate and PhD programmes across approximately 48 academic departments under seven faculties.

Secretary of the Admission Committee and Manager of the Facilitation Centre Dr. Bilal Ahmed said the record number of applications reflected the university's sustained efforts to strengthen academic quality broaden access and align its academic offerings with emerging national and international needs.

He said the introduction of new market-oriented programmes, together with ongoing improvements in academic standards, research culture, student support services and industry engagement under the strategic direction of the Vice Chancellor, had significantly enhanced the institution's appeal among prospective students.

Meanwhile, the admission test for MS, MPhil, MSc (Hons), MBA and ADCP programmes has already been conducted, with more than 2,000 candidates appearing in the examination.

According to the schedule, ECAT-UOS (Engineering College), Hifz-e-Quran, Medical Examination, Physical Efficiency Test for Sports Sciences candidates and Co-curricular Trials will be held on July 22 and 23, 2026 while male sports trials are scheduled for July 21 and 22 and female sports trials on July 23, 2026.

The HAT General Test for PhD admissions will be conducted on July 27, followed by PhD interviews on August 3, 2026.

The university will display the Master List for correction from July 24 to 27, 2026. During this period, applicants may visit the Facilitation Centre or use the online admission portal to correct errors in their personal information, academic record or marks before 4pm on July 27, 2026. Failure to rectify discrepancies or complete the required formalities within the stipulated time may affect admission eligibility.

Under the admission schedule, the first merit list for regular programmes will be displayed on July 28-29, 2026 followed by the second merit list on July 30-31 and the third merit list on August 3-4. For self-support programmes, the first merit list will be displayed on August 5-6, the second on August 7-10 and the third on August 11-12, 2026. Classes for both regular and self-support programmes will commence on September 7, 2026.
