SAU launches online classes to ensure academic continuity amid energy conservation measures

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Mar, 2026) In line with directives from the Government of Sindh aimed at energy conservation amid the prevailing national situation, the Sindh Agriculture University (SAU) Tandojam has formally launched online classes on the instructions of Vice Chancellor Engr. Prof Dr Altaf Ali Siyal. The initiative aims to ensure uninterrupted academic activities while contributing to national efforts to reduce energy consumption.

Under the supervision of the university’s Information Technology Centre, a modern learning management system (LMS) has been introduced through the university management system (UMS) to facilitate students. This digital platform enables students to attend online classes with ease, monitor their attendance, submit assignments on time and access course materials along with important academic updates.

According to an official statement issued by the university spokesperson, the newly implemented digital system is expected to significantly enhance academic management and serve as an effective alternative under the current circumstances.

Furthermore, training and orientation sessions were organised for faculty members to ensure the effective implementation of the system. Vice Chancellor Dr Altaf Ali Siyal personally attended these sessions and emphasised the importance of adopting modern technology in education. He urged both faculty and students to fully utilise the online system for continued learning and academic engagement.

The university spokesperson advised students to actively participate in online classes to maintain the continuity of their studies and to make the best use of the available digital resources.
