Saudi authorities close Jamarat gates until next year's pilgrimage

MAKKAH MUKARRAMAH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Jun, 2026) Following the smooth and successful conclusion of the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia, the relevant Saudi authorities have officially sealed all security gates at the historic Jamarat Complex in Mina, where the ritual of stoning the devil takes place.

According to officials responsible for security and administrative affairs at the Holy Sites, the operation to close all entry and exit points across all levels of the Jamarat Complex was executed immediately after the pilgrims completed their stoning rituals and departed from Mina.

The administration clarified that all gates of the multi-tiered complex will remain closed to general visitors throughout the year. The facility will be officially reopened only during the specific days of Tashreeq in the upcoming Hajj season next year.

The measure is part of the annual post-Hajj operational plan to wind down field activities at the Holy Sites. The closure allows authorities to conduct extensive maintenance, cleaning, and technical assessments of the complex to ensure foolproof security and top-tier facilities for the Guests of Allah in the future.
