HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Mar, 2026) The Sindh Bar Council (SBC) has postponed the elections of District Bar Association (DBA) Hyderabad, citing the prevalent fuel crisis, judicial holidays and security issues.
The SBC's Secretary Pervez Ali Memon on Thursday issued a circular in this regard, apprising all concerned that the new date for the elections would be issued soon.
"The SBC believes in the continuity of the democratic process. However, due to unavoidable circumstances, it is left with no other option but to temporarily suspend the process," reads the circular.
He pointed out that the concerned court's registrar had also conveyed their inability to provide courtrooms on public holidays in accordance with the National Judicial Policy.
The Secretary said the council had also received applications for postponement of the elections.
Through the same circular the SBC also postponed the elections of Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA) Larkana and Taluka Bar Association Sehwan.
