SCCI raises tax refund issues with FBR Official

SIALKOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Apr, 2026) President of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Syed Ahtesham Mazhar held a meeting with Zubair Bilal to address key taxation and refund-related concerns faced by the business community.

According to SCCI, the discussion focused on challenges associated with the FIFO-based refund processing system, persistent delays in income tax and sales tax refunds, and the increasing backlog of pending cases.

Participants also pointed out procedural complications in the refund verification process, excessive documentation requirements, and delays in the approval of revised returns, all of which are contributing to liquidity constraints for exporters.
