Secretary social welfare visits Women Protection Center

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) Secretary Social Welfare Saira Umar visited the Women Protection Center here on Thursday.

She inspected various departments of the center and met the affected women.

District Women Protection Officer Kanwal Shahzadi briefed the Secretary about the current arrangements.

She said that a women medical officer for medico-legal examination (MLC) and a Psychologist for psychological support have been temporarily posted in the center and they provide services two days a week.

Kanwal said that a police front desk is being set up which will be functional soon.

The secretary appreciated the efforts and performance of the center despite limited resources.
