Section 144 imposed in Abbottabad ahead of Muharram-ul-Haram 2026

ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Jun, 2026) The district administration has imposed Section 144 across Abbottabad to ensure peace, law and order, and religious harmony during Muharram-ul-Haram 2026.

According to a notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Captain (R) Sarmad Saleem Akram, the restrictions will remain in place for one month starting from June 16, 2026.

Under the orders, the display and dissemination of hate material, aerial firing, display of weapons, illegal use of loudspeakers, provocative speeches, pillion riding, wall chalking, vehicles with tinted windows, and unauthorized gatherings and processions have been strictly prohibited.

The order also bars individuals from standing on rooftops along the routes of processions and Imambargahs.

However, licensed and traditional processions and religious gatherings have been exempted from the restrictions.

The district administration has urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and maintain peace, tolerance, and religious harmony during the holy month of Muharram.
