Section 144 imposed in Punjab to protect air facilities, airports

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st May, 2026) The Punjab government has further tightened the security of all Pakistan Air Force air bases and commercial airports and imposed Section 144 around them.

According to the Punjab Home Department, these restrictions have been imposed to protect human lives, property and air operations.

According to the orders issued by the Home Department, Section 144 will be imposed within a radius of 13 kilometers around all air bases and airports, while its application will continue throughout the province for 30 days.

According to the notification, a complete ban has been imposed on pigeon racing, use of laser lights and throwing of ornaments or other objects in the above-mentioned areas.

Officials say that such activities are a hindrance to flight operations and a serious threat to flight safety.

According to the Punjab Home Department, the restrictions will be applicable not only around Pakistan Air Force installations but also around all commercial airports in the province.

In this regard, the Home Secretary has issued orders under Section 144(6) of the Criminal Procedure Code 1898.

The notification has directed the concerned district administration and law enforcement agencies to ensure strict implementation of the orders.

In addition, instructions have also been issued to improve the cleanliness arrangements in and around airports so that the arrival of birds and other hazards can be avoided.
