RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jul, 2026) The district administration and Police on Thursday finalized comprehensive security and administrative arrangements for the upcoming Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) refugee constituency elections scheduled for August 2.
The planning session was co-chaired by Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir and City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera to review operational readiness across the district.
Under the plan, a total of 100 polling stations will be established across Rawalpindi district, with 18 polling stations designated as sensitive.
Special security protocols have been approved for these 18 sensitive polling locations, where 100 dedicated police personnel will be deployed.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Additionally, surveillance cameras at all sensitive polling sites will be directly integrated with the Punjab Safe Cities Authority network for real-time monitoring.
The meeting formally approved a comprehensive transport layout to guarantee the secure transfer of election material, along with coordinated traffic management, emergency response, and Civil Defence operational plans.
DC Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir and CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera directed all allied departments to operate with full inter-agency synchronization to ensure a peaceful, transparent and seamless electoral process on August 2.
