Security beefed up across AJK on Eid Ul Fitr

MIRPUR (AJK) , (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news - 21st Mar, 2026) On the auspicious occasion of Eid ul Fitr, being celebrated across Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Saturday, security has been intensified across the AJK including Mirpur division after the State government reportedly directed the law enforcement authorities to depute additional security staff including police force at all the busy places including bazaars and shopping malls in order to maintain law and order situation and to avert the threat of any untoward incident on the eve of this religious festival of exceptional significance.

According to APP correspondent that the police force has been given special directives to ensure foolproof security arrangements at the busiest shopping centers and shopping malls and the places of worships - all mosques before and on Eid day during Eid prayer congratulations held at eid gahs, open places and mosques.

The authorities also increased police patrols for security in all ten district headquarters as well as the tehsil headquarters besides all other small and major towns and villages across the liberated territory.

The administration also decided to depute security personnel in plain clothes to keep a vigilant eye on unscrupulous and suspicious elements.

Since whole of the territory of Azad Jammu Kashmir is exceptionally peaceful area the overall law and order situation throughout AJK is under full control of the authorities, yet the security is being observed high in all of the ten district headquarters including the metropolis to maintain complete peace and order.

The District Magistrates and the District Police Chiefs of their respective districts as well as heads of all the police stations in AJ&K have been directed to ensure patrolling in their respective jurisdictions to ensure the full maintaining of peace and order in the region.
