Security heightened across Lahore

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st May, 2026) Security has been placed on high alert at checkpoints across the provincial capital, with police intensifying monitoring and inspection measures to ensure public safety.

SP Mobiles Bilal Ahmed paid surprise visits to several checkpoints and reviewed security arrangements and operational preparedness. According to a spokesperson for the Dolphin Force, the officer inspected key checkpoints, including Naka Gajjumatta, and assessed the performance of officers and personnel deployed on duty.

During the visits, Bilal Ahmed met police personnel, briefed checkpoint in-charges on security protocols, and issued necessary instructions to further strengthen vigilance.

He said that officers and personnel posted at checkpoints across Lahore were performing their duties with dedication, responsibility and determination. The SP also interacted with citizens passing through the checkpoints and sought feedback regarding the conduct and professionalism of police officials.

He further reviewed the practical use of the e-Police App by personnel in the field.

Bilal Ahmed directed all officers and officials to maintain a courteous attitude towards the public and strictly follow the policy of “First Greeting, Then Speaking". He also stressed the need to maximise the use of the e-Police App for verifying the data of suspicious individuals.

He instructed all officers, including checkpoint in-charges, to ensure the use of bulletproof jackets while on duty. He further ordered the continuation of effective checking of public transport and other vehicles at checkpoints.

According to SP Mobiles, police personnel deployed at checkpoint frontlines will perform their duties while fully equipped with weapons to ensure a swift response to any security threat.
