Security measures: Muharram processions routs inspected

BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2026) Higher officials reviewed Muharram security arrangements in Hasilpur and Khairpur Tamewali tehsils of the district.

According to official police sources, they visited the routes of Muharram processions in the Hasilpur and Khairpur Tamewali circles to review security and administrative arrangements.

The officials concerned in Hasilpur and Khairpur Circles were directed to utilize all available resources to ensure the peaceful observance of Muharram-ul-Haram. They were also ordered to conduct meetings in various police circles to promote harmony and maintain a peaceful atmosphere during Muharram.

They further said that SDPOs and SHOs have been directed to ensure foolproof security arrangements for all processions and religious gatherings and that processions should be monitored through CCTV cameras, body-worn cameras, and Safe City surveillance systems.

They were instructed that all participants entering processions and gatherings should undergo thorough screening with metal detectors and be allowed entry only through walk-through gates. In view of the prevailing national security situation, police personnel were directed to remain vigilant, closely monitor suspicious individuals and activities, and perform their duties with professionalism and alertness.
