Security of CPEC M-14 motorway reviewed in high-level meeting

Dera Ismail Khan, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) Regional Police Officer (RPO) Ghulam Mubashir Maken chaired a high-level meeting at the Range Police Office Dera Ismail Khan to review and strengthen security arrangements for the strategically important CPEC M-14 Motorway.

The meeting was attended by District Police Officer Ziauddin Ahmed, SP Motorway Ateeq Khan and DSP Motorway Muhammad Khan.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the overall security arrangements, patrolling system and inter-agency coordination on the M-14 Motorway.

The RPO directed the police and motorway authorities to further strengthen the joint patrolling mechanism to ensure a constant presence of security personnel on every section of the motorway.

He stressed the need for effective and timely intelligence sharing among police, motorway police and other law enforcement agencies to ensure swift response in any emergency situation.

The meeting also decided to intensify targeted operations along the motorway and its link routes, while adopting a zero-tolerance policy against suspicious elements and their facilitators.

Speaking on the occasion, the RPO said that the CPEC M-14 Motorway holds vital importance for the country’s economy and its security is a national responsibility. He added that the safety of passengers and protection of commercial transport would be ensured at all costs.
