Seminary teacher arrested for allegedly torturing minor student in Attock

ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th May, 2026) Police on Tuesday arrested a seminary teacher on charges of allegedly subjecting a teenage student to severe torture in the limits of Fateh Jang police station in Attock district.

According to police sources, the father of the 13-year-old student lodged a complaint stating that his son, who studies at a local seminary, returned home for Eid holidays and revealed torture marks on various parts of his body. The child alleged that his teacher, identified as Qari Shoaib, had repeatedly beaten him for failing to memorise his lesson.

The complainant further stated that the teacher allegedly threatened the student with dire consequences, including death threats, if he disclosed the incident to anyone. Following the complaint, police registered a case and launched immediate action against the accused.

Police confirmed that the suspect was taken into custody and shifted behind bars for further legal proceedings, while investigations into the incident are underway.
