ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) The Senate on Thursday offered Fateha for prominent religious scholar, former member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) provincial patron Sheikh-ul-Hadith Maulana Sheikh Muhammad Idrees, who was gunned down in Charsadda two days ago.

JUI-F Senator Maulana Ata ur Rehman led the Fateha in the House for the departed soul of the religious scholar.

Later, Maulana Ata ur Rehman moved a joint condemnation resolution in the House against the “brutal murder” of Maulana Sheikh Muhammad Idrees.

He said the late scholar was a renowned religious figure and a member of the central Majlis-e-Shura of JUI-F, adding that the House should strongly condemn the incident.

The resolution also demanded the immediate arrest of the killers and called for them to be brought to justice without delay. The House later unanimously adopted the resolution.
