QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Jun, 2026) Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Defence Production, Senator Muhammad Abdul Qadir, on Wednesday hailed the recent decisions taken at the National Economic Council (NEC) meeting, describing them as a positive step toward economic recovery and sustainable development.
In a statement issued here, Senator Abdul Qadir said the NEC’s focus on fair distribution of resources among Federal units, effective utilization of development expenditures, and alignment with national priorities reflected a strong commitment to strengthening the country’s economy. He emphasized that ensuring the completion of the Annual Development Programme and provincial development projects in the upcoming fiscal year is a pressing need.
He noted that prioritizing infrastructure, energy, agriculture, education, health, water resources, and regional connectivity projects was both timely and crucial, as it would guarantee balanced progress across different parts of the country.

Senator Abdul Qadir added that the NEC’s decisions would foster trust among federal units and help sustain development despite limited financial resources. Timely completion of projects, he said, would attract investment, accelerate industrial activity, and provide citizens with improved basic facilities.
He further remarked that the NEC meeting marks an important step toward placing the national economy on solid foundations. The decisions, he explained, would not only speed up development but also promote provincial harmony, financial discipline, and national unity.
