The senator also engaged with major stakeholders of the startup ecosystem to discuss its performance, impact, and future growth trajectory.
During the visit, she toured various sections of the center and held meetings with startup founders, management, and sponsors. Detailed discussions were held on the scope of the incubation program, its performance, and future expansion plans, with particular focus on strengthening and scaling incubation initiatives across Punjab.
Senator Anusha Rehman, emphasizing the importance of a robust startup ecosystem, stressed that fostering innovation and entrepreneurship was essential for sustainable economic growth. She said creating economic opportunities for youth remains a top priority of the Punjab government, adding that consistent efforts were underway to promote innovation-driven enterprises in the province.
The senator highlighted that she was the founder of the National Incubation Centers program launched in 2016 and noted that renewed efforts were being made to expand its reach under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif. She said the government was committed to empowering young entrepreneurs through incubation centers by providing them with the tools, mentorship, and resources needed to succeed in a competitive digital economy.
The senior adviser said that government support was indispensable for promoting modern technology and innovation, adding that the growth of startups would not only generate employment opportunities but also contribute significantly to strengthening the national economy.
She further said that steps were being accelerated to make the innovation ecosystem in Punjab more dynamic, inclusive, and results-oriented, ensuring that emerging entrepreneurs could play a meaningful role in the province’s economic development.
