Service Chiefs, Armed Forces commemorate 78th martyrdom of Capt Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Jul, 2026) Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ; Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Naveed Ashraf, NI, NI (M), T Bt,; Chief of the Air Staff (CAS) Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, NI (M), HJ, and the Armed Forces of Pakistan solemnly commemorate the 78th martyrdom of Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, paying rich tribute to his unparalleled courage, unwavering commitment and supreme sacrifice in the defence of the nation.

On 27 July 1948 during the First Kashmir War at Tilpatra, Azad Kashmir, Captain Muhammad Sarwar Shaheed became the first Pakistani to be recipient of Nishan-e-Haider after embracing martyrdom in the line of duty for freedom of Kashmir.
