ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th May, 2026) The export of various services witnessed 17.05 percent increase during the first nine months (July-March) of the current fiscal year as compared to the corresponding months of last year, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported.
According to the latest PBS data, Pakistan earned $7.345 billion from the export of services during July-March 2025-26 as compared to services’ export of $6.275 billion in July-March 2024-25.
The services’ imports also witnessed an increase of 10.65 percent during the months under review and were recorded at $9.496 billion as compared to the imports of $8.582 billion in July-March 2024-25.
Based on the figures, the services’ trade deficit decreased by 6.74 percent during the months under review as compared to the corresponding months of previous year.
The services trade deficit was recorded at $2.151 billion during current months against the deficit of $2.306 billion during same months of last year.
Meanwhile, on year-on-year basis, the exports of services in March 2026 increased by 16.17 percent to $902.91 million from $777.22 million in March 2025.
On the other hand, the imports also rose by 3.17 percent by going up from $897.34 million to $925.80 million, according to PBS data.
On month-on-month basis, the export of services increased by 12.83 percent in March 2026 when compared to the exports of $800.21 million in February 2026.
The imports of services also witnessed a nominal increase of 0.36 percent in March 2026 compared to imports of $922.50 million in February 2026, PBS reported.
