Seven killed, 1,712 injured in 1,431 road accidents across Punjab

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) At least seven people were killed and 1,712 others injured in 1,431 road traffic crashes reported across all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

According to a spokesperson for the Emergency Services Department Rescue 1122 on Monday, 765 victims with serious injuries were shifted to various hospitals, while 947 with minor injuries were provided first aid at the scene by rescue medical teams.

According to the statistics, 890 drivers, 62 underage drivers, 172 pedestrians and 657 passengers were among those affected in the crashes.

Lahore reported the highest number of incidents with 259 accidents affecting 334 persons, followed by Faisalabad with 107 accidents and 126 victims, and Multan with 83 accidents and 88 victims.

The report further stated that 1,565 motorbikes, 111 auto-rickshaws, 176 cars, 27 vans, 12 passenger buses, 61 trucks and 76 other types of vehicles, including slow-moving carts, were involved in these road traffic accidents.
