PESHAWAR: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-June 20th, 2026) At least seven people were killed and three others injured in two explosions in the Marka Bera area of Bannu district, police said on Saturday.
District Police Officer (DPO) Yasir Afridi said that a roadside improvised explosive device (IED) exploded as a passenger van was passing through the area, killing five people on board.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He said a second explosion occurred shortly afterwards at the same location, claiming the lives of two individuals who were taking part in rescue operations.
The DPO added that another vehicle was also affected by the second blast. The bodies and injured were shifted to a hospital, where the wounded are receiving treatment.
Officials said the passenger van was travelling from Hathi Khel village to Bannu when it was struck by the explosion.
Law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area and launched an investigation into the incident.
