Shaan-e-Pakistan celebrates 10th anniversary with awards ceremony for special talent

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Jun, 2026) Shaan-e-Pakistan marked its 10-year milestone celebrations with an award and citation ceremony and a press conference to unveil its upcoming initiatives, highlighting its commitment to promoting inclusive arts and education through the SEPMA Academy.

The event commenced with a red-carpet reception attended by prominent personalities, including Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, Sahir Lodhi, Razzak Pardesi, the Honorary Consul General of Morocco, and businessman Ishtiaq Baig, among others.

The programme opened with the recitation of the Holy Quran, Naat and the national anthem presented by visually impaired students of Ida Rieu Welfare Association.

Delivering the welcome address, Shanaz Ramzi highlighted the vision behind the SEPMA Academy, established in memory of Haji Zikar Pardesi, father of Shaan-e-Pakistan founder Huma Zikar Pardesi. She said the academy aims to provide free music education and opportunities to visually impaired and specially abled individuals while promoting cultural exchange through music, fashion and food.

A key feature of the evening was the distribution of awards and citations among talented students associated with institutions collaborating with SEPMA Academy. Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani presented the prestigious Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Award to Gulsher, a student of Ida Rieu.

He also distributed citations among students of Ida Rieu, the Institute of Holistic Rehabilitation and Inclusion and The Citizens Foundation.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Vankwani expressed pleasure at collaborating with SEPMA and voiced hope that the partnership would lead to future joint initiatives. He also highlighted the role of Prem Nagar in supporting underprivileged and marginalized communities, particularly in Thar.

Speaking on the occasion, Razzak Pardesi emphasized the importance of collaboration in advancing opportunities for differently abled individuals and lauded the efforts of SEPMA Academy in promoting inclusion.

Founder of Shaan-e-Pakistan, Huma Zikar Pardesi, said she hoped that during the platform’s 10th year celebrations, some of the talented students associated with the academy would be provided opportunities to showcase their abilities on international platforms.

The event also featured a tableau and awareness activity promoting inclusion, produced and directed by Huma Zikar Pardesi. Costumes for visually impaired participants were provided by House of Braahti.

The ceremony concluded with a high tea reception attended by guests from various walks of life.
