Shah Rukh Khan’s King film faces production shift as Dubai shoot gets canceled. Makers move desert action sequence to Mumbai studio amid West Asia tensions. The Shahrukh Khan starrer stays on track for December 24, 2026 release.

King film producers canceled the high-profile Dubai shooting schedule set for April 9, 2026. Escalating geopolitical tensions in West Asia involving the US, Israel, and Iran made the international leg unsafe. Director Siddharth Anand and the team put safety of the cast and crew first.

The canceled sequence features a large-scale desert action set-piece with Suhana Khan and Anil Kapoor. Producers shifted the shoot to a massive studio in Vile Parle, Mumbai. They now recreate the Dubai desert in a controlled environment.

This studio move gives the team better control over lighting, complex action choreography, and high-speed chase sequences. Insiders confirm the change does not delay the project. King film remains scheduled for theatrical release on December 24, 2026.

Shahrukh Khan plays an elite assassin who mentors a young protégé portrayed by his daughter Suhana Khan. The cast also includes Abhishek Bachchan in a rumored antagonist role, plus Deepika Padukone and Rani Mukerji.

The same regional tensions affected other Bollywood projects. Akshay Kumar-led Welcome to the Jungle scrapped its Dubai schedule for a glamorous song sequence. Makers now recreate luxury locations like casinos and private jets at Mumbai’s Film City and Madh Island.
