ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) The Federal Constitutional Court on Thursday suspended the Sindh High Court’s ruling in a case concerning recruitments to Grade 17 and above posts, and issued notices to all parties for further proceedings.
A three-member bench headed by Justice Hasan Azhar Rizvi heard the case. During the hearing, the court questioned how appointments to posts in Grade 17 and above had been made without the involvement of the Public Service Commission, and whether the prescribed recruitment procedure had been followed at the time.
The Additional Advocate General Sindh informed the court that 11 individuals had been appointed in Grades 17, 18, and 19 under a government project, which has since been completed.
Justice Rizvi observed that there appeared to be irregularities in the recruitment process that were now being addressed. He further remarked that the employees had been serving for the past eight years and should obtain clearance from the Public Service Commission.
The court was also informed that the Sindh High Court had earlier directed that the matter be referred to the Public Service Commission to examine the legality of the appointments.
