Sherry expresses grief over MI-17 helicopter crash

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Jun, 2026) Vice President of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Sherry Rehman Wednesday expressed deep sorrow over the crash of a MI-17 helicopter near Muzaffarabad.

In a statement, Sherry Rehman prayed for the eternal peace of the soldiers who embraced martyrdom in the tragic incident and for strength and patience for their bereaved families.

She said the entire nation salutes the immense sacrifices rendered by the country's brave armed forces in the line of duty.

“The soldiers who laid down their lives while safeguarding the homeland are our national heroes,” she added.

Sherry Rehman said that Pakistanis stand united with the families of the martyrs in this difficult time and share their grief.

She paid tribute to the courage, dedication and patriotism of the fallen personnel, saying their sacrifices for the defense and security of the country will always be remembered with respect and gratitude.

Sherry Rehman also prayed for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks and reiterated the nation’s unwavering support for the armed forces and the families of those who have sacrificed their lives in service to Pakistan.
