ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Apr, 2026) Senator Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Sherry Rehman Friday remarked that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s firm stance against Pakistan has backfired, while Pakistan’s balanced diplomatic approach and accomplishments speak for themselves.

While speaking to a local media channel, she stated that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s stance against Pakistan has failed globally and Modi’s hardline narrative has backfired while Pakistan’s balanced diplomatic approach continues to assert its dominance on the international stage.

She emphasized that Pakistan has been recognized internationally for its consistent narrative as a peace-loving nation committed to stability in the region.

She further highlighted that Pakistan is actively engaging in regional diplomacy through a balanced and sustainable approach, demonstrating strategic maturity and foresight.

Such a responsible and sustained diplomatic effort is a serious undertaking that requires careful planning and is not a task for the inexperienced, she added.

Responding to a query, she said that while Pakistan deserves credit for facilitating ceasefires in various conflicts, maintaining high expectations is challenging, as it is a very difficult task.

She emphasized that Pakistan possesses the capabilities to manage these complex situations effectively.

Sherry also expressed gratitude to the countries that have supported Pakistan’s peace-loving stance, highlighting the importance of international cooperation in promoting stability and regional harmony.

Responding to a query, she appreciated the roles of Field Marshal Asim Munir, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, and President Asif Ali Zardari, adding that if U.S. President Donald Trump visits Pakistan, it would be a milestone and historic visit, forming part of Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts and contributing to regional stability.
