LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Apr, 2026) The Evacuee Trust Property board (ETPB), Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, continued arrangements for the visit of Sikh pilgrims to Pakistan, as a delegation inspected facilities at Gurdwara Dera Sahib, Lahore.
Additional Secretary Shrines Nasir Mushtaq and President of the Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora visited Gurdwara Dera Sahib and reviewed arrangements made for the visiting pilgrims.
On the occasion, Additional Secretary Shrines Nasir Mushtaq said that Pakistan fully believes in religious harmony and tolerance, adding that Sikh pilgrims have been warmly welcomed despite prevailing global tensions. He said Pakistan holds great significance for the Sikh community in religious terms and the respect Pakistan enjoys at the global level is unparalleled.
Ramesh Arora said that since the arrival of Sikh pilgrims from India, the media has played a positive role in amplifying their voices. He said the pilgrims have arrived with the hope of paying their respects on the sacred land of Baba Guru Nanak.
He appreciated that the governments of Punjab and Pakistan have always given importance to the Sikh community and expressed gratitude to all concerned departments for excellent arrangements. He added that due to the positive vision of the prime minister of Pakistan, the country’s name is being recognised globally.
He further said that the government of Pakistan is promoting a message of peace, tolerance, and brotherhood in the world and will continue to do so in the future.
The Sikh pilgrims will stay in Lahore for two days and will return via Wagah Border on April 19 after completing their visit.
