Sindh Government provided relief to public in transport sector, subsidy of 50 billion given to farmers in wheat crop

LARKANA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Apr, 2026) The spokesperson for the Sindh Government, Buland Khan Junejo stated Pakistan Peoples Party leadership has always served the people, and this service will never be forgotten. He added that Zulfikar Ali Bhutto made Pakistan a nuclear power, due to which no country can look at Pakistan with ill intent today. He expressed these views while addressing in press conference here on Saturday in Larkano press club.

He said that the leadership of the PPP has a long and deep connection with Pakistan and Sindh, extending from Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto to Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

He further said that Bhutto granted democracy and the right to vote, while Benazir Bhutto, through her political vision, worked for women’s empowerment and their rights, bringing recognition to the country.

He said that the credit for freedom of expression also goes to the PPP. Under the directives of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the Sindh Government has established healthcare institutions such as NICVD, GIMS, and SINHS across the province, while a 600-bed hospital is under construction in Larkana.

He further stated that the Sindh Government has empowered women by distributing scooties in Sukkur after Karachi and Hyderabad. Similarly, after Karachi and Larkana, the People’s Bus Service has been launched from Sukkur to Shikarpur, and its network is being expanded across Sindh.

He said that despite the increase in petrol prices, the Sindh Government provided relief to the public in the transport sector, and a subsidy of 50 billion rupees was given to farmers in the wheat sector.

He added that during the 2022 floods, under the directions of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, President Asif Ali Zardari, and MPA Faryal Talpur, the entire PPP leadership was present in the field, while opponents had resigned and stayed inactive.

He said such alliances are of no use if they do not stand with Sindh during crises.

Criticizing the Functional League, he said its past role has not been pro-people. He stated that the Functional League supported the anti-Sindh Kalabagh Dam project, whereas Benazir Bhutto resisted it along with the people. He added that the Functional League supported dictators and compromised Sindh’s interests, which the public rejected.

He said that during the government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, the Functional League was also involved in canal project conspiracies in Sindh, while the PPP opposed those projects at that time as well.

Responding to a question, he said that if the President does not have the authority to transfer even a constable, then why was the public misled regarding the canal issue—this must be answered.

He stated that after the floods, the PPP secured a fund of 2 billion Dollars for rehabilitation and launched the world’s largest housing project, under which 1 million houses have been constructed so far. He also said that President Asif Ali Zardari ensured social protection for millions of women through the Benazir Income Support Programme.

He added that those currently in the Functional League were either previously part of the PPP or have no political standing. He emphasized that the PPP can never betray Sindh.

He concluded by saying that alliances are formed against the PPP in every election, but the people of Sindh always strengthen the party with more votes. Opponents will face defeat in the upcoming elections as well, and the PPP will emerge victorious.
