Sindh Govt Announces New Market, Shopping Mall & Wedding Hall Timings in Karachi and Across the Province

Under the new notification, markets in Karachi and other divisional headquarters will close by 9:00 PM, while other districts face an 8:00 PM deadline. In Karachi, Hyderabad, and other divisional headquarters, shops, markets, and shopping malls must pull down their shutters by 9:00 PM. However, if you are in any other district, your local market will close an hour earlier, at 8:00 PM. These rules apply seven days a week.

What Stays Open?

The government is keeping life-saving services moving. You won’t have to worry about emergencies, as these remain exempt:

• Medical stores, laboratories, and hospitals.
• Petrol pumps and fuel stations.
• Milk shops, bakeries, and tandoors.

Dining and Events

• For those looking to eat out, hotels and food outlets can now serve guests from 7:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
• Home delivery and takeaway services face no time restrictions.
• Wedding halls are now restricted to a four-hour window, operating strictly from 8:00 PM to 12:00 midnight.

While the rest of the country started these fuel-saving measures earlier this week, Sindh’s entry marks a unified front against the energy shortage.
