KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Apr, 2026) Sindh Government has enforced new business hours for markets, restaurants and wedding halls under its austerity policy.
According to a notification issued on Friday, the provincial government announced that the revised timings for shops, markets, restaurants and marriage halls would take immediate effect across the province.
Under the new directives, all shops, markets and shopping malls in all districts other than divisional headquarters will close at 8:00 PM. In divisional headquarters, businesses will be allowed to remain open until 9:00 PM.
The orders will be for seven days a week, including Saturdays and Sundays.
However, certain essential services have been exempted from these restrictions, including tandoors, milk and dairy shops, bakeries, medical stores, laboratories, clinics, hospitals, and petrol pumps.
Hotels, restaurants, and other food outlets will only be permitted to operate for dine-in services from 7:00 PM to 11:30 PM. Home delivery and takeaway services will remain unrestricted.
Marriage halls and banquet facilities have been allowed to host events from 8:00 PM until midnight.
The government has directed commissioners and deputy commissioners to ensure strict implementation of these orders in their respective areas, in coordination with Sindh Police.
