Sindh Govt works day and night to provide basic facilities to citizens: Karamullah Waqasi

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Mar, 2026) Spokesperson for the Mayor Karachi and Parliamentary Leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in KMC, Karamullah Waqasi on Tuesday said that the Sindh government and local leadership are working day and night to provide basic facilities to citizens, and positive results will soon be visible.

In a statement, Karamullah Waqasi stated that this year has been declared a year of development, during which Rs. 75 billion will be spent on development works in Karachi under the supervision of the Mayor.

In the coming months, citizens will witness clear and positive impacts of these projects, leading to an overall improvement in Karachi’s condition and the quality of life.

He acknowledged that recent deaths occurred due to extraordinary heavy rains and unforeseen disasters.

However, he emphasized that even during Eid holidays, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) staff remained actively engaged in serving the public.

The Mayor Karachi himself visited different areas to monitor the situation, while the entire team worked round the clock to provide maximum relief to citizens, he added.

He further said that efforts are underway to upgrade outdated water systems, repair pipelines, eliminate illegal connections, and ensure fair distribution of water so that every citizen receives their due share.
